Passionate About Pets

When I turned three years old, my parents adopted an English Springer Spaniel and called her Heidi; she was my birthday present. During my years growing up, Heidi was always at my side, my best friend, my confidant, my greatest admirer and sometimes even my therapist. The bonds between canine and human can be traced back to the stone age; it is old and it is very strong. There has hardly been a point in my life since, that I haven't had a furry companion. Of all the dogs and cats that have shared my life with me and been my loyal friends, I only have quality images of the last few. Before that, all I have are torn and tarnished snapshots for me to remember them by and I regret not having images that truly honours their spirits. Being able to combine my passion for photography with my love of animals of all kinds is the most rewarding thing I have ever chosen to do.

Preserving Memories

The day I came to the startling realization that I had to offer my care and talent for creating photographic images of pets as a service was the day I visited a dear friend and her owner, only two days before she was scheduled to be euthanized. My dear friend had cancer and she was suffering. While her veterinarian had given some medication that had freed her from immediate pain, her time was done here in this world and when I took those final images, when I presented those final images of that sweet dog to her people I came to realize just how much it meant to them and just how important it is to preserve the memories of our furry, and often too short lived friends. They truly do rip a piece of our hearts from us when they leave and all we have to keep are the photographs. For those that do not want to have regrets, who don't have beautiful, professionally crafted images of thier best friend, I am here.
